Eat or drink the colors of the rainbow…from natural sources,
not artificial dyes and colorings, which are serious bad news to your health.
One of the best ways to do this is to pick a variety of fruits and veggies and make a fun smoothie.
Creativity can go a long way.
Here is a great idea for a smoothie I randomly made because I was looking for something to snack on.
Powerhouse smoothie with the following:
spinach, guanabana, dragonfruit, bluberries, coconut, coconut-almond milk.
Spinach is a very nutrient-dense food that is loaded with phytonutrients and flavonoids and all the vitamins/minerals from A to Zinc. Think Popeye…loaded with protein .
Guanabana is also known as graviola or soursop. It is known to have anti-microbial and anti-carcinogenic properties.
Dragonfruit, also known as pitaya, is loaded with antioxidants and is not only good for the inside of your body, but the outside as well. It is beneficial for beautiful skin and hair when applied topically.
Blueberries are one of the most nutrient dense foods, with a super high ORAC (oxygen radical absorbance capacity) score.
Coconut is arguably one of Mother Nature’s most perfect foods. Everything about it is amazing, from the oil to the milk to the water. It is loaded with fiber and electrolytes and essential fatty acids and has a low glycemic index.
Choose fruits and veggies with deep and radiant colors as they have more antioxidant capacities.
And always remember that a plant-based diet offers alkalinity and more in the way of calcium and protein and vitamins and minerals.
Cheers to your health.
